Obituary for Charles Ivan Taggett

Hampden – Charles “Ivan” Taggett, 74, died unexpectedly September 26, 2017, at his home. He was born August 28, 1943, In St. Francis, the son of Roy and Alphena (Michaud) Taggette.

Ivan received his GED while serving in the US Army, where he was an SP4. He served in Germany during the Vietnam War. Ivan’s biggest love was his grandchildren, Alexis and John. They have always been and will always be “Bampa’s babies”.

In addition to his parents, Ivan was predeceased by brothers Earl, Vinal, Merrill, and Vaughn; and sisters, Agnus McNeal and Maureen Taggette. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debra; stepdaughter, Chasity Ellis; grandchildren, Alexis and John Dowling; siblings, Roy Taggett and wife, Nadine, Leatha Hamilton and husband, Chuck, Theresa Johnson and husband, Tom, Mona Collins, Berton Taggett and wife, Deborah, Sherman Taggett and wife, Penny, Leola Jandreau and husband, Doyle, Charlene Taggett, and Joseph McNeal; and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

Services will be private for the family. Those who wish to remember Ivan in a special way may make gifts in support of the family to Debra Taggett, 15 Carver Road, Hampden, ME, 04444.
