Carmel--Dean Edward Briggs, 73, went to be with our Lord on September 27 after battling a brief illness.

During his life, Dean was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed Maine's hunting seasons. He also enjoyed tending to his property in Carmel. But most of all, he enjoyed the company of his wife of 42 years, Sharon (Purvis) Briggs, who was with him at the time of his passing.

And Sonja (Brewer) Grant, her husband Erik and their son, Alexander of Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose Wilbur, Karen Peyton and a brother, Harold "Rowdy" Briggs.
Dean is predeceased by his parents, Pastor Harold E. and Julia (Wickett) Briggs, as well as one brother, DeWayne.

Thank you to all of the people at Beacon Hospice, you're a great team.
