Condolence: To the Lyford Family. Please accept my condolences in this time of separation from Bud. I have learned much about his life from the obituary, the recent news stories concerning the 70th wedding anniversary and from talking to Peter. He was a remarkable, talented, heroic, loving and humble man whose faith was an inspiration. I remember attending a morning Bible Study of which Bud was a part almost 30 years ago. I enjoyed his participation and insights and his encouragement of me in my relationship with God. I am thankful for a short conversation with him on the phone in late February after I was told that his health was not well. I regret not being able to visit him after that but the timing and his health did not permit that. Also, I regret that I missed the news of his passing and the services in his honor. How appropriate that his passing is close to Easter since his faith in Jesus Christ has resulted in Bud's now being in the presence of his Savior and Lord and he will someday experience the same resurrection that Jesus did on that first Easter morning. Grace and Peace to each of you.

Condolence: Jean, Susan, Peter and family, Our sincere sympathy to all of you at this difficult time. We were heartened to read of all the honors and accomplishments Bud had throughout his lifetime. It sounds like he led a very full life, including 70 years of marriage! The last time we saw him was in Florida with my Dad and Rich and Jerry a little over 10 years ago. Somewhere we have a picture of that family reunion that I will try to find. Love to all.

Bud Lyford, Holbrooks Pond Camp neighbor, red and white aluminum boat, always had an eye out for us kids. Never too busy for kind words for you on the street or in his hardware store, sense of humor, known and well-liked and respected throughout Brewer and surrounding towns. Faithful church-goer and Brewer High School/U Maine athlete and lifelong fan. WW-II Army Vet. That's what I came to know, admire, and remember about Bud.
