Memorial Day. For some, it marks the start of the summer vacation season. For others, it's a restful long weekend. And for all, it's a time to remember the men and women who have fought for our freedom in our wonderful country. Originally called, Decoration Day, the holiday began after the Civil War to mark the graves of the fallen soldiers. Now we lower our proud flag to half-mast to honor those who have given the greatest sacrifice.
During this time of family and reflection, pause to remember those who have given all. Pause to remember what they have fought for. Pause to remember those that are no longer with us. Happy Memorial Day from all of us.
