Dana D. Thurlow, 81, died peacefully August 25, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a ten year battle with alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Bangor September 15, 1936, son of David Dwight and Thelma (Dyer) Thurlow.
He was a graduate of Bangor High School class of 1955 and Husson University. Dana served in the US Army and was employed in the accounting department of the B&A Rail Road and retired after 34 years of service.
Dana and his wife Georgia enjoyed their winters in sunny Clearwater, Florida for 20 years playing cards, dominos and dancing with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Georgia (Bradsell) Thurlow of Brewer; three children Lance Thurlow and his wife Gail, Victoria Freeman Rauch and her husband Edward, all of CA.; Lee Thurlow and his wife Marcy of FL.; four stepchildren Robert Blackman and his wife Cindy of Auburn, Gary Blackman of FL., Merrianne Perry and her husband David , and Penny Riva; son-in-law Gene Riva all of Brewer; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Pat Thurlow of VA.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother David Thurlow.
The family would like to thank VNA Hospice for their loving care and support. In keeping with Dana’s wishes services and interment will be private.
