REXTON, NB, CANADA, AND CORINTH - Anita Marie (Martin) Cormier, 85, went to be with The Lord peacefully on June 22, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born on February 21, 1933, in St. Louis De'Kent, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Emile and Margueritte (Despres) Martin. Anita married Vincent J. Cormier on November 29, 1957, and together they shared 61 years of marriage. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother of three children. She lived her life for her family and The Lord, believing in the power of prayer. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by John Vincent Cormier, son of Vincent Cormier; a brother, Omer; and two sisters, Emerise, and Florence. Anita is survived by her husband, Vincent; sons, Vincent J. Cormier Jr. and his wife, Jolene, Thomas J. Cormier Sr. and his wife, Marie, and Richard J. Cormier and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, T.J., Jessie, Barry, Joey, and Megan; and a great-granddaughter, Belle Ivy; as well as sisters, Maisie, and Deloresse; and a brother, Adrice; and a special friend, Maria. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nan and Chris for the special care and friendship they provided for Anita and Vince.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where a Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor, immediately following the service on Thursday. Those who wish to remember Anita in a special way may make gifts in her memory to The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, 22 Bramhall St, Portland, ME 04102.
