HAMPDEN – Jane Grace Teachout Gillahan, 75, died peacefully June 7, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1943, in Kenduskeag, the daughter of George A. and Fern M. (Adams) Mudgett.

Jane graduated from East Corinth Academy. After taking some secretarial courses, she married Bernard M. Teachout. After Bernard left the Air Force, they settled in the Glenburn area, where they raised three daughters. They celebrated 38 years of marriage. She retired from Sears after many years of employment. After losing her first husband in 2001, she married Robert H. Gillahan in 2006. Up until her death, they celebrated 12 years of marriage, where they resided in Hampden. Jane was an active member of the Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church. It was here that she wore many hats that included Sunday school superintendent and teacher, VBS coordinator, and more.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Bernard Teachout, her brother George Mudgett, and her brother-in-law Stephen Barker. Surviving in addition to her current husband, Robert H. Gillahan, and her three daughters, Bernadine Tuck and her husband, Daniel, of NH, Arlene Aquino and her husband Christopher, of FL, Annette Boone and her husband, Andrew, of Glenburn; eleven grandchildren, Katherine and Nathaniel Meek, Benjamin Tuck , Michael Tuck, Noah Tuck, Abigail Tuck, Anna Tuck, Samuel Tuck, Allison Aquino, Sarah Aquino, Christian Boone, Lily Boone; three great grandchildren, Lucy Meek, Silas Meek, and Caleb Meek; two brothers, William Mudgett and his wife Jan, Keith Mudgett and his wife Candy; one sister, Rosalie Barker; one sister-in-law, Beverly Mudgett; one aunt, Pauline Staples; two step sons, Mark Gillahan and Jon Gillahan; many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church, 911 Hudson Road, Glenburn, with Rev. Stephen McDonald, and Rev. Jack Dowling, co-officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the church immediately following interment, Monday. Those who wish to remember Jane in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church, 911 Hudson Road, Glenburn, ME 04401.
