Gloria Jean Dunroe, 77, passed away peacefully May 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 28, 1941, in Frankfort, the daughter of George H. and Arlene (Hustus) Parker.
Gloria loved everything to do with family. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking all kinds of goodies for her family and friends. She enjoyed holiday get togethers and any chance for a social gathering. Gloria was known as a prankster and had a wonderful sense of humor, she derived great pleasure in doing things for others. She dearly loved all of her family and will be greatly missed. Gloria spent most of her working years in the healthcare field at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She is survived by a longtime companion and great friend, Paul Hodgins; sons, Greg Dunroe and wife Wendy of Hampden, Terry Dunroe of Hampden, Mike Dunroe and wife Sandy of Castleton, VT, Tom Dunroe and wife Connie of Kenduskeag; brothers, Charlie Parker and wife Kathryn of Florida, Philip Parker of Frankfort, George Parker and wife Patty of Winterport; sisters, Josephine Seekins of Frankfort, Madeline Sullivan of Belfast, Ruth Puglisi of Ashland, Mass., Polly Cole and husband Reggie of Frankfort; grandchildren, Misty and husband Devin, Sara and husband Robert, Stephanie and husband Jay, Thomas, Megan, Serena, Ashley, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Daisy; and 7.5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas Dunroe; brothers, Alvin Parker and Stewart Parker and a sister Gertrude Clewley. A funeral service will be held 3 PM, Monday, June 4, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden, with Rev. Aaron Martin, pastor of the Winterport Baptist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 2 PM until the time of the service. A private graveside service will be held for family at Green Lawn Cemetery, Swanville. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Oncology Support Project, Healthcare Charities, P.O.
