Obituary for Muriel LaFountain

VEAZIE – Muriel E. LaFountain, 92, wife of the late John “Jack” LaFountain, died peacefully March 15, 2018 at an Orono healthcare center. She was born January 29, 1926 in Columbia, Maine, daughter of William B. and Sarah (White) Chandler.

Muriel bought and sold antiques for many years in Maine and New Hampshire. She is survived by one son, Richard B. LaFountain of Veazie; a nephew Billy Pringle and his wife Patti; three nieces, Debbie Pringle, Lois (Chandler) Cousins and her husband Ron, and Lynn Chandler. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two infant daughters, Mary and Sarah LaFountain; a brother, Glendon Chandler and sister-in-law Thelma; a sister, Glennis Pringle and her husband Bill.

In keeping with Muriel’s request, a graveside service will be held in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor at a date and time to be announced. Those who wish to remember Muriel in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
