Obituary for Edward J. Nadeau Jr.

Edward J.  Nadeau Jr.
Bangor – Edward James “Jimmy” Nadeau, Jr 80, died peacefully, February 16, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born April 9, 1937 in Bangor, the son of Edward J. and Elizabeth I. Nadeau Sr.

Jimmy was a graduate of John Bapst High School, class of 1955. Following graduation, he served his Country in the United States Air Force. In 1958, while in El Paso, TX, Jimmy married the love of his life, Mary Ann, and they spent the next 57 years together. He was employed with United States Postal Service, retiring after 29 years. Jimmy was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Ann (Phillips) Nadeau, and a sister-in-law, Donna Vachon. He is survived by his children, Robin Edwards and her husband, John, Stephen Nadeau and his wife, Deb, and J. Chris Nadeau and his wife Melissa.; seven grandchildren, Matt and Luke Edwards, Mike Nadeau, Katie Schwanda, and Drew, Patrick and Sarah Nadeau; two great-grandchildren, Michaela and Eli Schwanda; brother, Wendell Nadeau and his wife Marina; sister-in-law, Judith and her husband Glen Strang and brother in law Joseph Vachon.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Maine Veterans Home D Unit and Beacon Hospice, with special thanks to Desiree, Lawanda and Michelle.

A funeral Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Church Parish Hall, immediately after the Mass, followed by the Rite of Committal with military honors at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor. Those wishing to remember Jim in a special way may make gifts in his memory to St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York Sr., Bangor, Maine 04401.
