Obituary for Faye Earlene McDermott (Jowdry)

Faye E. (Jowdry) McDermott, 73, died peacefully January 30, 2018. She was born April 7, 1944 in Milo, the daughter of Earle and Margaret (Crozier) Jowdry. She was a kind and generous person who was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Her greatest joy was helping children and adults to reach their full potential in education, career or in life. Faye especially enjoyed teaching with her son, Peter, at their school, C.L.A.E. and C.L.A.E. camp in Bangor which included creating characters and sets out of clay for stop-motion animation film making education.

In addition to her parents, Faye is predeceased by a brother Jeffery W. Jowdry, and her loving husband, Peter M. McDermott; She is survived by her children, Terry Raymond and wife, Teresa, Tamara Ranganathan and husband, Murali, Margaret "Maggie" Hurd and husband, Andy, and Peter M. McDermott II and partner, Courtney Painter; grandchildren, Kristina Dyer, Patrick Hurd and his wife, Heather, Michael Raymond and Brandon Hurd.

All are welcome to call from 5-7 p.m. Friday January 9, 2018 at the Orono Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 72 Main St., Orono. A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 10, 2018 at the Church of Universal Fellowship, 82 Main St., Orono, with the Rev. Lorna Grenfell, celebrant. All are invited to a reception in the church vestry immediately following the service.
