Obituary for Margaret Ann McGinley (Higgins)

Margaret Ann McGinley (Higgins)
Bangor - Margaret “Peg” McGinley, 89, died unexpectedly December 4, 2017. She was born August 9, 1928 in Bangor, the daughter of Andrew and Kathryn (Givren) Higgins.

Peg was a devoted lifelong member of St. John’s Church and attended both St. John’s and John Bapst high schools. In 1945 she began working as a telephone operator for AT&T and continued until her first child was born. She was a devoted mother who constantly put her children’s needs and wants ahead of her own. Family meant everything to Peg from a very early age and she maintained close ties with her siblings and their families throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Douglas. Surviving are her 4 children, Michael McGinley and his wife, Jean Wu, of Bellevue WA, Patrick McGinley and his wife, Lily Trevino, of Denton, TX, Diane McGinley of Veazie, and Ann McGinley and her husband, Marc Holland, of Granby CT; 7 grandchildren, Matthew McGinley, Jennifer Maskala, Jake McGinley, Stephanie McGinley, Michael Holland, Ryan Holland and Brian McGinley; 5 Great grandchildren, Daniel McGinley, Mason Frank, Daemon Maskala, Tilly McGinley, and Thomas McGinley; two sisters, Lois Spellman and her husband John, of Bangor and Judy Smith of Bangor; many loving nieces and nephews.
