Obituary for Helen Shirley Bouchard (Williams)

Helen Shirley Bouchard (Williams)
WINTERPORT – Helen S. Bouchard, 88, peacefully passed away October 3, 2017, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born September 17, 1929, in Brunswick, the daughter of
William E. and Bertha (Scherer) Williams.

Helen was raised in Freeport, ME where she graduated from Freeport High School in 1948. She worked for many years as a hairdresser in her home in Topsham and also as a sales clerk at L.L. Bean retail store in Freeport until her retirement in 2003.

Family was important to Helen. She loved spending time with them at the family camp on Lake Moxie in The Forks. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her. She never missed their birthday celebrations, baking each of them a special cake at that time. Knitting, gardening and yard work filled her spare time. You could always count on her to bring her signature chocolate cream and apple pies to family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her husband, Marcel “Butch” Bouchard, and all 13 of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Vickie Morris and husband Charlie, and Pat Donahue and husband Bill, both of Winterport; three grandchildren, Kelly Donahue, Cheryl (Morris) Kardos and husband Jonathan, and Michael Morris and wife Sarah; and a great-granddaughter, Molly Morris.

A private family graveside service will be held at Growstown Cemetery, Brunswick. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
