Obituary for Justin Myles Landry

Justin Myles Landry
Brewer – Justin Myles Landry, 20, died unexpectedly June 22, 2017. He was born January 30, 1997, in Springfield, MA, the son of Kris-Anne Spring and Drew Landry.

Justin attended school in Brewer through the sixth grade, then was homeschooled by his mom. He enjoyed working as a landscaper for his good friend Jared Hughes. Justin had an amazing passion and affinity for the outdoors from the time he was a toddler. He used to diligently use a toy lawn mower to go up and down the backyard endlessly. As he got older, he developed a passion for hiking, trying to climb as many mountains in Maine as he could. He climbed to the top of Mt. Katahdin three times and to the top of Mt. Washington in NH twice. He loved downhill skiing, cross country skiing, fishing, and hunting. For years, he was a daily sight at the Bangor City Forest biking for endless hours. He loved to seek out and watch all types of wildlife, especially black bears. He also loved his Chevrolet Silverado truck and was always ready for adventures.

Justin was a unique and interesting person who lived life on his own terms. From the time he was tiny, he knew what he wanted and went after it with great determination. His curiosity about many subjects knew no limits and he would seek out as much information as he could on anything he was interested in, spending hours reading articles and watching lengthy documentaries on every subject under the moon. Twenty years of life was not enough, but he fit a lot into those twenty years. Justin was strong, steadfast, and loyal. He loved his family and friends fervently and would have done anything to protect the people he loved. Justin has left a gap in the hearts of the people he loved him that will never be filled.

Justin is survived by his mother, Kris-Anne Spring; his father, Drew Landry; grandparents Myles and Sonja Spring; sister Elisabeth; special friends Abe Ross, Rose Ross, Amanda Raymond, Carter Raymond, Jared Hughes, Tyler Lynch, and Savannah Wintle; his girlfriend Kristin Hodgdon, aunt and uncle Marie and Dan Burns, cousins Sarah and Jim, and his beloved dog, Buddy. He is also survived by his birth mother Kettie Lawrence and her sons, Levi and Milo. Justin was predeceased by a very dear family friend, Jonathan Raymond.

Justin meant the world to his mother, Kris-Anne; he was her miracle baby and could not have been any more well loved. He was very close with his sister Elisabeth and loved her more than anyone on earth. Justin was blessed with incredible grandparents, Sonja and Myles, who did everything, plus more, for Justin and loved him with a pure and unconditional love. We will all miss him more than words can say.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Those who wish to remember Justin in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
