Barbara Browning  Sosman
Bangor – Barbara Browning Sosman (Trommer), 72, died after a brave and courageous fight with cancer January 19, 2017, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 25, 1944, in Flushing, NY, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Murphy) Sosman.

Barbara graduated from, Fitch Senior High School, in Groton, CT, class of 1962. She attended Douglas College (Rutgers University), and was graduated from UConn with a BS in English. She earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Vermont College. She went on to be Professor of Creative Writing at Western Connecticut State University. She also taught at Husson and at Eastern Maine Community College. Barbara was a lover of reading, writing, nature, and life itself. She also is a two-time cancer survivor. Barbara was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Hospice Care of Danbury (CT) Hospital.

Flowers, the Opera, songbirds and the sea. Children, the night sky, and God. She loved them all.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Paul Trommer, of Bangor; the adored mother of Arlyn Eames Turner, of North Babylon, NY, and Geoffrey Eames, of San Francisco CA; loving stepmother of Daniel Carlson, Hannah Jurewicz, and Karen Christine Trommer; precious grandmother of Sam, Samuel, Chaney, Malcolm, Shannon, Ryan, Bennett, Grace, and Jacqueline; cherished sister of Stephen Sosman, of Chevy Chase, MD, John G. Sosman, of Lawrence KS, and Ann Sosman, of Albuquerque, NM.

A memorial service will be held at a later in the spring or summer.
