NEWBURGH – Christine “Chris” (Armstrong) Henderson, 64, went home to be with the Lord January 14, 2017, at her residence. She was born December 24, 1952, in Hartland, the daughter of Kenneth D. and Avis (McDougal) Armstrong.

Chris graduated from Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1971. Later, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Husson College and then a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Beal College. Chris was known so well as a wonderful wife, amazing mother, and an award-winning Gram Gram. She loved most to spend her free time with her grandchildren, going to movies, camping, and swimming, and so much more. Chris so enjoyed her time with her sisters on the “Sister Get-Together’s”, they were full of laughter and love. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together with Gary, Avis, Jacob, and the girls “sisters”.

Chris was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Armstrong; brothers-in-law, Darrell Doody, Bert Henderson, and Sterling Cry and his wife Leotta. Surviving, in addition to her beloved husband of 40 years, Gary Henderson, is her mother, Avis Armstrong; sons, Scott Hill, Jeffery Hill and wife Kristy, Dan Henderson and wife Amy; beloved grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Jacob, Hunter, Zachary, Randy, Hayden, Leah, Page; brothers, Brett Armstrong and wife Linda, Donald Armstrong and wife Becky, and Ward Armstrong; sisters, Jean Morrow and husband Al, Judy Armstrong, and Carrie Johnson and husband Dave; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Henderson and wife Linda, and Lewis Henderson and wife Barb; sisters-in-law, Vaida Doody, Wanetta Busse, and Celia Huber and husband Howard; uncle, Darrel McDougall and wife Betty; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 AM, Friday, January 20, 2017, with the Rev. Mark Rustin, pastor of the Carmel Congregational Church, officiating. Those who wish to remember Chris in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Susan G.
