Obituary for Brian Lee Simpson

Brian Lee  Simpson
BANGOR - Brian Lee Simpson, 66, passed away peacefully the night of November 28th, 2016. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life.

Brian was born in Presque Isle, ME on August 15th, 1950 - where he also married his sweetheart, Sandra Ann Simpson, on November 18th, 1969. Brian enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, snowmobiling and four wheeling with his children and grandchildren, spending time with his family and friends, camping, fishing, and hunting with his boys. In the last months of his life he treasured the time that his cousin Billy would take him fishing. He was known for joking around (even if it was at the wrong time) and being the life of the party.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ann Simpson, and their four children, Leane Cyr and her husband Steven Cyr, Jeff Simpson and his wife Nichole Simpson, Justin Simpson and his wife Kellie Simpson, Shelly Roope and her husband Seth Roope; his 11 grandchildren, Katlyn Dence and her husband Alex Dence, Kristen Lee, Daniel Sprague, Landon Cyr, Alex Simpson, Madalyn Simpson, Emma Cochran, Owen Simpson, Caleb Simpson, Eli Simpson, and Kaeden Roope. He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Marie Doherty, and his father Alton Wayne Simpson.

A special thanks to Brighams and Women's Hospital, Dr. John Groarke, Beacon Hospice, Mary Rowe RN, Northeast Cardiology, Dr. Powers, and Dr. Lang.

A gathering of remembrance will be held 1-3 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
