Marjorie Pike  Surles
Marjorie Pike (Tinker) Surles, 95, died peacefully September 19, 2016 in Bangor. She was born December 5, 1920 in Lubec, daughter of Charles and Mary (Cook) Tinker.

She is survived by her son, John D. Surles and his companion of many years, Jan Varnum, of Punta Gorda, FL, and daughter Mary Ann Suddy and her husband Allen, of Bangor. She was a loving grandmother of 8, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson. She is also survived by a sister, Vivian Murray of Bangor, several nieces, nephews, and a very special friend, Mary Henrique, and those many friends acquired while a resident of Phillips Strickland House, as well as the caring staff.

She was predeceased by her son William R. Surles and a great grandson, John “Bobby” Surles, sisters Kay, Irene, Elizabeth, and Dot, brothers Joe, Charles, and Irving.

A Memorial Celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held 2:30 – 4:00pm, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Phillips Strickland House, where she lived and called home for the past 14 years.

Those who wish to remember Marjorie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Phillips Strickland House, 21 Boyd Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
