Leota Shorey  Peavey (Shorey)
Corinth – Leota S. Peavey, 88, died September 15, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born January 9, 1928, in Howland, the daughter of George and Bessie (Cunningham) Shorey.
Leota was a long time member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church. She worked at the Picture and Gift shop in downtown Bangor for many years. Leota enjoy sewing, and attending craft shows where she would sell the crafts that she enjoyed making so much.
In addition to her parents, Leota was predeceased by her husband, Daniel W. Peavey, Sr; six sisters, Jennie Willett, Lucy Shorey, Pearl Shorey, Pauline Howe, Thelma Trundy, and Erma Hilchey; three brothers, Walter, Clifford, and Earl Shorey. She is survived by her sister, Marion Cook of Auburn; many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with pastor Dalton Dunfee, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be held in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
