Obituary for Stephen Maurice Barker

Stephen Maurice Barker
Kenduskeag – Stephen M. Barker, passed away peacefully and went to his heavenly home April 20, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born January 7, 1960, in Bangor, the son of John E. and Muriel (Emery) Barker.

Stephen grew up in Bradley, graduating from Old Town High School, class of 1978. He attended college for a year, worked shortly as a carpenter, then went to work driving delivery trucks. Lastly, he loved his job working for Pine State Trading Company where he was always known as dependable, and could be counted on for going “above and beyond” to help his co-workers. Stephen loved going to the ocean, spending quality time with his family, and going camping. He especially enjoyed taking walks with his wife.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Eastern Maine (especially Richard Coleman, RN), for their loving care of Stephen and our family, and also for the many prayers and help from all our family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his father, Stephen was predeceased by a daughter Danielle; mother-in-law Fern Mudgett; brothers-in-law George Mudgett and Bernie Teachout. He is survived by his loving wife Rosalie; daughters Serina and Alysia Barker; mother Muriel; sister Judy Pelletier and husband Scott; sister-in-law Jane Gillahan and husband Robert, and sister-in-law Beverly Mudgett; brothers-in-law Keith Mudgett and wife Candy, and William Mudgett and wife Jan; special aunt Margie; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Stephen’s life beginning at 12 noon Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. Attendees are encouraged to celebrate Stephen by wearing colorful and comfortable attire. Interment will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Corinth. Those wishing to remember Stephen way may make gifts in his memory to a memorial fund for his family through Bangor Savings Bank.
