BANGOR - Albion M. Dorr, Jr, "Junior," 88, died February 6, 2016 at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born August 30, 1927 in Hermon, the son of Albion M. and Blanche (Garland) Dorr.

Junior grew up in Bangor and attended Bangor schools. In 1950, he married Pauline Bates and they lived in Bangor. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in November. He worked at Harrington's Filling Station and later ran Harry Nelson's Garage for many years. He ran a television fixing business for a brief period of time. For many years, the family ran a Holstein dairy farm, keeping Junior busy. In 1959, he started Dorr's Equipment with his father and brother, Donald. He enjoyed working with the customers, driving all over the state working on equipment. He retired from Dorr's Equipment in 1983, due to ill health. After retirement, Junior enjoyed helping his son-in-law, Richard, with mechanical issues at Leture's Paving. Junior was a fix it person, always tinkering on something. He enjoyed camping trips and snowmobiling with family, attending the girls' horse shows, spending time with his grandchildren, and talking on his CB, aka Doorbell.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald, a sister, Joyce Bragg, nephews, Robert Dorr, Alan Oxley, Terri Bragg and a niece, Bonnie Oxley. Surviving in addition to his wife, Pauline (Bates) Dorr, are his daughters, Patricia Leture and her husband, Richard of Orono, Marie Wade and her husband, Peter of Farmington, Nancy MacLeod and her companion, Rick Taravella of Boynton Beach, Florida, six grandchildren, Melissa Leture, Vanessa Leture, Jason Wade, Daniel Wade, Sarah Wade, Lindsay MacLeod, one sister, Joanne Oxley of Brewer, several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where a funeral service will be held 11 am, Thursday, February 11, 2016 with Andrew Files officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the spring. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., following the service. Those who wish to remember Junior in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
