Obituary for Sylvia Marie Hachey (Lenfest)

Sylvia Marie Hachey (Lenfest)
Veazie – Sylvia Marie Hachey, 74, died peacefully, surrounded by her family February 23, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. Heaven needed another angel, so they called her home. She was born August 19, 1940, in Milford, the daughter of Theodore and Grace (MacKechnie) Lenfest.

Sylvia graduated from Orono High School, class of 1959. She was married to Gayland Hachey for 53 years, and was a devoted and loving wife and homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, meme, and grammie. She always went over and above, doing anything for them. She could also be described as the backbone of her husband’s rod and fly business, cleaning and taking care of the financial aspects of it. Sylvia liked going fishing with Gayland, but was always happy for him when he went on his extended fishing trips. She also enjoyed Sunday afternoon rides and going out for dinner.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband Gayland; son Michael Hachey and wife Lisa and daughter Karen Rustin and partner Deryk Drake; grandson Matthew Hachey; and granddaughter Nicole Hogan and husband Chuck; great grandson Remington Hogan; brother William Lenfest; and sister Theola Dawes. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by a brother, Brian Lenfest; sister-in-law Fern Lenfest; brother-in-law Richard Dawes; and son-in-law Dale Rustin.

How lucky we were to have someone that makes saying good-bye so hard.

There will be a memorial service announced in the spring. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com
