Barbara Joan  Crossman
Barbara J. Crossman, 66, died unexpectedly December 17, 2014, in Glenburn due to a motor vehicle accident. She was born August 19, 1948, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Betty (Boucher) Cronin.

Barbara was a graduate of Hartford High School and from Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in the nursing program. For over 25 years her nursing career took her across the United States caring for the elderly, children, and the mentally ill. She will be missed by her friends and co-workers at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center where she worked for many years. Barbara enjoyed NASCAR Races, traveling, Bingo, and reading. She was known for displaying kindness and compassion to the families of those she cared for. What she truly loved most was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; daughter, Theresa (Cyr) Crossman and husband Raymond of Hampden, son, David M. Cyr and wife Tammy of Brownville, son, Jason A. Cyr and wife Jessica of Bangor; three grandchildren, Jake Cyr, Jett Cyr, and Josie Sudborough, and a fourth grandchild due in May; and a close friend of over 35 years, Jeannie Grogan. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Linda.

A service of remembrance will be held 5 PM, Tuesday, December 23, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, with Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Dir. Of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, following the service.
