Jen E. Wilson, our mum, passed away on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at Maine Veteran’s Home.
Mum was raised in Hampden by Mrs. Varney, along with Paul Winkler whom she considered her brother.
Mum attended Bangor High School and worked after school at Eastern Maine General Hospital, now EMMC.
On March 20, 1948 she married Edwin “Ted” Wilson. Together they shared 65 years of marriage living in Brewer and Bangor. While living in Brewer she founded and worked the after school Brewer Recreation Center. She also was involved with the CANUSA games in Brewer and Canada.
For many years Mum volunteered in the E.R. at St. Joseph Hospital. She was given the Mother Angela award. Other volunteer areas were, Phillips-Strickland House, King’s Daughters and made birthday cakes for BMHI residents. Mum also worked many a rummage sale at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Mum enjoyed many happy years bowling at Family Fun Lanes and the Mucci’s were like family.
Another task that Mum and Dad truly enjoyed was dog-sitting with special ones, Coco, Guiness and Lager.
Those left to carry on are, one daughter, Linda and son, Roger and his wife, Di; grandchildren, Kim and Andy , Jared and Victoria and Kevin and Jody; great grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Brandon, Tobias, Angelo and Zachary.
Mum’s “second” family children, Cheryl and Fred Noyes and Gale and Mike Longo; five granddogs, Aspen, Pebbles, Jane, Brownie and Hershey along with two grandcats, Mocha and Latte. Mum loved animals.
Mum was predeceased by her loving husband, Ted, December 10, 2013 and her son-in-law, Robert Colangelo December 28, 2013.

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor, 5-7p.m. Thursday December 18, 2014. Private entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial suggestions to Maine Veteran’s Home Activities, 44 Hogan Rd., Bangor.
