Obituary for Paul Herman Ruopp

BANGOR – Paul H. Ruopp, 94, died December 9, 2014, at the Maine Veterans Home. He was born February 1, 1920, in Danbury, CT, the son of J. George and Anna (Schulze) Ruopp.
Paul graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1938 and Danbury State Trade School, Class of 1939 as a Machinist. He served in the National Guard 1938 – 1942, and was called to active duty in the U.S. Army. Paul worked at Emerson Hat Company and Waterbury Tool. He owned and operated the Enterprise Service Station for 29 years, and then work for the U.S. Postal Service, for 15 years. Paul was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, and the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bangor. The family expresses a special warm thank you to Lee Hall for the loving and caring time spent with Dad these last two years, as well as the nurses and staff from the New England Home Health Care.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul Ruopp Jr. and his wife Kathi, George Ruopp and his wife Donna, Peter Ruopp and his wife Penny, Dale Ruopp and her companion David Holland; five grandchildren, Allyson, Andrew, Shannon, Paul III, and Heather; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Frederick Ruopp; and lots of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Augusta Louise (Bessel) Ruopp; four brothers, Martin Ruopp, Ernest Ruopp, Ted Ruopp, and Eddie Ruopp; four sisters, Christa Lang, Thea Grube, Helen Ruopp, and Lillian Bardo.
