Life Story for Lena Mae Gray

Lena Mae  Gray
Brewer – Lena Mae Gray, 84, died peacefully Friday, October 10, 2014 at a Brewer health care facility. She was born October 28, 1929, in Derby, the daughter of Rainey Joseph and Nina Elizabeth (Wilkins) Baker.

After graduating from Lagrange High School, Lena went to work for the phone company as an operator, a job she held for 33 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Lena was also a member of Twin City Baptist Church in Brewer.

Lena is survived by a daughter, Linda Pollard and her husband Richard, of Glenburn; 3 step-daughters, Ann Holmes of Old Town, Elaine Gray of Florida, and Brenda Gray of Bangor; 8 grandchildren, a special granddaughter Ashley Mae Pollard; a sister, Helen Gardner of Bangor; and a brother, Ronald Baker of Lagrange. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Fernald A. Gray; and a stepdaughter, Dolores Gray Farris.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Twin City Baptist Church, 559 North Main Street, Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the reception hall of Twin City Baptist Church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Veazie.
