Henry S. Malloch, 97, passed away September 17, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born September 5, 1917, on Campobello Island, son of Peter and Julia (Earle) Malloch.
As a young man, Henry was a fisherman while living on Campobello. He later went on to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. After moving to Lubec, he worked for American Can Company for many years, before retiring.
As an adult, he enjoyed summers at his home on Indian Lake in Whiting, and gardening and puttering in his workshop. He loved his time spent on the waters of Passamaquoddy Bay.
Henry enjoyed 35 winters in Florida, where he worked at the Palm Beach Kennel Club.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris (Greene) Malloch of Bangor; two daughters, Carolyn Archer of Lubec and Judy Farmer of CT.; son-in-law, Wayne Antone of Bangor; five generations of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Leighton of Southwest Harbor; a niece and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Louise M. Antone.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Woodlands Assisted Living and Beacon Hospice for their care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday September 20, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
