Obituary for Marion Oakes Foss (Lyons)

AUBURN AND BANGOR – Marion L. Foss, on July 27, 2014, in the dawn of a new day, an Angel came for Marion to join loved one waiting for her in the blessed light. Among those waiting were her parents, nine sisters and brothers, husbands Ralph Cimpher, Mark Hersey, Charles Oakes, John Foss, and an infant daughter, Marjorie.
Marion was born in Springfield on February 5, 1922, one of eleven children of Pitt and Alice (Martin) Lyons; grandchild of John and Abigail (Worster) Lyons and Fred and Hannah (Cole) Martin.
She worked many years in the laundry department of EMMC, making many friends at the hospital. She was a kind woman who left an impression on many people.
Marion leaves her children, Leslie Cimpher and his wife, Shirley of Farmingdale, Coradeane Keith and her husband, Grandville of Lisbon, Linda Fowler and her husband, Phil of Bangor, and Ralph Cimpher and his wife, Sharon of Auburn; her younger sister, Charlotte of CT; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marion loved dogs, especially Buddy, cats, children, and God. May she rest in everlasting peace Amen.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 31st. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor, following the service. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
