Obituary for James Arthur Kencil Triplett

James Arthur Kencil Triplett
Washburn- James Arthur Kencil Triplett, 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family, on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born October 18th, 1964, in Providence, R. I., the son of Cynthia Goss Triplett and Hervey Millard Triplett. Jim had a very unique childhood traveling and growing up in various places including Kenya, Uganda, and several other states in the U.S. before moving to Maine. He graduated from Brewer High School, attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Business Management. Jim was a car salesman at Downeast Toyota in Brewer for several years and developed many long term connections there. He also served as an equipment sales manager at Granville Lumber, John Deere, Chadwick Baross, and Irving Woodlands. Everyone around Jim could depend on his "jack of all trades," ability to fix their car, boat or just about anything with an engine. Jim was a machinist and had a vast wealth of knowledge ranging from marine equipment, to tractors, to snowmobiles to significant dates and events in history which he loved to share with others. He was also a member of the All Souls Church and served on several committees. Jim was an avid outdoors man and just loved experiencing all life had to offer. He was in his element on the water, in the woods, and jumped at any chance to take family and friends on adventures. Jim enjoyed sailing in Blue Hill, long walks with his fiancé and their dog Jolie and snowmobiling in the winter and kayaking around Lucerne Lake in the summer with his daughters.
He was known for his generosity, his sense of humor and his kindness to all. Many commented about his ability to calm and support others in need as well as deliver a joke with a twinkling eye. He will be remembered for his charisma, sharp wit and his laughter. He was so incredibly loved by all, and we promise to continue his legacy of making the active choice to bring happiness to others. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kayla Elizabeth Triplett and Rachel Victoria Triplett, fiancé, Marteen Renee Hester, her children, Chelsey and Jonathan; his parents Cynthia G. Triplett and Hervey M. Triplett; his sister Elizabeth and her husband Donald Blakelock, first cousins: James Stuart Goss, Leslie Searchfield, Amy Layton, Scott Williamson, Sarah Layman, Martha Zuck and Kate Gootee, former wife Victoria Triplett, nieces and nephews: Judy, Karen & Ian Blakelock, Jennifer MacPheters, Kate Thibodeaux, Ryan & Chris Kenney, and Rebecca and Emily Wood. He was predeceased by first cousins Charles James Goss and Troy Arthur Geary Triplett and Uncle James H. Goss, grandparents Doris Bunce Goss and James H. Goss and Clara Innis and Arthur G. Triplett. Friends are welcome to call from 5:30–7:30pm Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith 55 South Main St., Brewer. A celebration of James’s life will be held 1:00pm Wednesday at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church vestry immediately following the service.
